Airgas is Hiring for a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) in Harrisburg, PA! We are looking for you! Shift Time: 2nd Shift (4pm-12:30am), Monday-Friday

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
  • In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.

Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading of high-pressure and liquid cylinders on / off trucks in compliance with federal, state, local regulations.
  • Meeting all safety standards in the loading and unloading of cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.
  • Inspecting cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures that ensure government, Airgas, and distributor safety benchmarks are met.
  • Maintaining awareness of safety protocols for various gases; identifies size and contents of cylinders by carefully reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
  • Committed to all government and company standards relating to the safe handling of materials and cylinder gases.
  • Confidently managing a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to support site operations.
  • Carefully loading cylinders on/off vehicles, using a hand truck or chain hoist, and maintaining accurate records of the type and quantity of cylinders.
  • Ensuring the secure loading/unloading of cylinders on/off pallets, confirming they are safely strapped in.
  • Examining returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, or burns; taking initiative in performing minor maintenance of equipment and detailed inspection of cylinders prior to filling.
  • Moving cylinders to designated work areas using appropriate, safe work methods or equipment.
  • Identifying and segregating out-of-test or defective cylinders to maintain high quality standards.
  • Preparing cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and ensuring they are clean.
  • Contributing to other team needs as assigned to ensure a supportive work environment.
