About The Position

We are looking for a Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) in Hingham, MA. This role is responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders in compliance with all relevant regulations and company standards. The position involves conducting safety checks, analyzing product purity, preparing cylinders for filling, filling cylinders by pressure and weight, and assisting with loading/unloading operations. Accurate record-keeping and adherence to safety protocols are crucial. The role also requires knowledge of gas hazards and cylinder labeling.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED required.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable of hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
  • Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
  • In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
  • Experienced in using a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely handle and fill gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Review and ensure cylinders meet government, Airgas, and distributor standards prior to filling.
  • Conduct safety checks, such as odor tests and valve inspections.
  • Analyze products for purity and correct mixtures.
  • Prepare high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling.
  • Evacuate cylinders to ensure quality and purity.
  • Fill cylinders by pressure and weight according to regulations and standards.
  • Assist with loading and unloading cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers.
  • Maintain accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
  • Complete quality control sheets as required.
  • Support accurate labeling of cylinders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
