The forklift position is responsible for safely and efficiently locating, transporting, and loading building materials into our fleeted trailers. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This role involves participating in safety walks and stand-up meetings, investigating scan locations in WINTRAK for windows and doors, safely unloading and loading windows and patio doors onto shipping carts, locating and retrieving custom windows and doors from holding carts, and safely and efficiently floor loading custom and stock windows and patio doors onto trailers according to manifested stops. The associate will also place screen, panel, and frame kit labels on respective units before scanning and loading, scan all stock/custom windows, PD doors, screens, panels, frames, and sash/glass-only units to trailer locations, ensure safe movement of carts in and out of the loading dock work area, investigate and record stock pallet locations onto SD pallet forms for retrieval, properly strap all loaded windows and patio doors according to SOPs, and clean and sweep trailers before loading merchandise. Adherence to 5S guidelines and ensuring the dock lock is engaged/disengaged properly are also key responsibilities. The role requires the safe and efficient operation of a sit-down forklift.
