Production Associate 2 - Laser Operator
About The Position
Koozie Group is one of the largest suppliers in the promotional products industry, known for iconic items like the Koozie® Can Kooler. They imprint company logos on a wide variety of products. This role is for the 1st shift, Monday – Thursday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a pay rate of $18.00/hr. in Red Wing, MN. The Laser Operator will efficiently operate laser engraving machines, set up, adjust, and operate these machines, and prepare items for the next routing step. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that only products meeting company standards are passed on or packaged for shipment.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions, perform basic math functions, and make adjustments and/or minor repairs to equipment
- Able to effectively create working relationships with other employees
- Able to maintain a clean and neat working environment
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 25lbs. repetitively
Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate YAG & CO2 lasers
- Pull up correct dialog boxes on computer and accurately enter the correct setting for speed, frequency, and the number of passes for the product being produced
- Accurately determines the size of the art and enters it into the appropriate dialog box on the computer
- Sets up and adjusts machines for proper operation
- Ensures that the proper supplies are being used for printing
- Reads and follows manufacturing orders to make sure orders are printed according to specifications
- Changes tooling to accommodate the product being printed
- May package product for shipping, making sure proper box size and packaging procedures are followed and ensuring that only products meeting quality standards are packed to ship to our customers
- Uses DCT to accurately report process completion for each manufacturing order
- Maintains equipment and does preventative maintenance in order to keep equipment in good working condition
