About The Position

Assists in leading mobile recycling crews across multiple railroad job sites. This role works with suppliers and coordinates crews, equipment, materials, logistics, and daily work plans to ensure safe, and efficient operations. Will serve as troubleshooter and problem solver to the employees for interpreting technical instructions, dealing with large degrees of variation with part and process consistency while delivering the highest levels of quality components. Production Assistant Roadway position requires work near or has the potential for fouling a track or will work as a flagman, watchman or lookout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily activities for recycling mobile crews
  • Works with management to establish job priorities for recycling mobile crews
  • Conduct pre-shift safety briefings, toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and site inspections
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental requirements, and applicable federal, state, and railroad regulations
  • Review plans, schedules, and equipment requirements before work begins and communicate clearly with crews and stakeholders
  • Coordinate mobilization between locations, including crews, vehicles, tools, safety equipment and heavy equipment
  • Track daily production by documenting railcars cut and scrap shipments
  • Track labor hours, equipment utilization, delays, safety observations and equipment inspections
  • Ensure crews maintain a professional job-site presence, including maintaining clean and safe equipment and vehicles
  • Manage order fulfillment to meet customer expectations
