About The Position

This is a temporary, part-time position (averaging 15-20 hours per week, with potential for more) within the Biomedical Communications department. The role is responsible for providing delivery services to various university entities, including ETSU Health clinical locations and administrative offices. The position also involves some assistance with production finishing tasks, such as binding and sorting. The Production Assistant/Product Delivery will follow directions from the Director of Production and Production Coordinator to assist with print production and delivery for a wide range of materials for the department’s expanding customer base. This includes offices and departments of the University, satellite locations, ETSU Health clinical and administrative offices, state/federal government entities, and the University-wide student population. The role utilizes various production and bindery equipment, confirms product specifications, and maintains HIPAA certification and guidelines. The position also involves working with the creative team on project files, coordinating with Postal Services, communicating with customers, assisting with large-format printing and finishing, ensuring effective operations, and maintaining inventory of supplies. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to safely use production equipment that may be hazardous.
  • Ability to safely maintain production equipment, including equipment repairs.
  • Ability to understand and utilize online traffic systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Must adhere to BMC's delivery procedures.
  • Ability to transport and deliver to and from academic and clinical campuses and various businesses.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide delivery services to various university entities, ETSU Health clinical locations, and administrative offices.
  • Assist with production finishing tasks, including binding and sorting.
  • Assist with print production and delivery for a wide range of print, display, and promotional materials.
  • Utilize various production and bindery equipment and inventory to produce and deliver end products.
  • Confirm product specifications.
  • Maintain HIPAA certification and strictly follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Work with BMC’s creative team on project files.
  • Work with Postal Services staff for mail services.
  • Communicate with customers about schedules when necessary.
  • Assist with production and installation for large-format printing, exhibition work, canvases, floor and outdoor sidewalk graphics, and finishing.
  • Ensure the most effective operations for work, as directed.
  • Help maintain inventory of paper, poster stock, bindery supplies, toner, and other consumables.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
