We are currently hiring for the position of: PRODUCTION ASSISTANT, MARKET Reporting to the Production Manager, Market, the Production Assistant, Market supports the onsite planning, production, and operational delivery of venues, activation spaces, and exhibitor booths associated with TIFF: The Market at the Metro Toronto Convention Center (MTCC) and other Market venues. Working closely with the Production Manager, Market and the Market Operations team, this role assists with all phases of production, including pre-production, venue setup, booth coordination and management, onsite operations, and load-out, helping to ensure Market spaces are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Production Assistant, Market provides day-to-day operational and logistical support for TIFF: The Market, assisting with exhibitor and partner needs, booth coordination, venue readiness, production schedules, equipment and material management, and onsite troubleshooting. Working collaboratively with internal departments, vendors, venues, exhibitors, National Agencies, and external partners, this role contributes to the successful delivery of professional market spaces and helps ensure a seamless experience for delegates, industry participants, and stakeholders. The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced event production environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in event production, live events, festivals, exhibitions, or a related production environment.
  • Experience supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of live events, including setup, onsite operations, and load-out.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and operational details in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with event logistics, vendor coordination, exhibitor support, or booth coordination and management is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with internal teams, suppliers, vendors, and external partners is considered an asset.
  • Background in business administration, arts administration, event management, or a related field is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, setup, onsite operation, and load-out of venues and activation spaces associated with TIFF: The Market.
  • Assist with the implementation of production plans, operational schedules, venue layouts, and floor plans to support the successful delivery of Market spaces.
  • Provide onsite production support during venue setup, event operations, and dismantle, ensuring timelines are met and operational issues are escalated as needed.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and relocation of the Market Industry Office, ensuring furniture, equipment, technology, and supplies are in place and operational.
  • Coordinate the distribution, organization, and inventory of production materials, equipment, and event supplies.
  • Support the coordination and day-to-day management of exhibitor booths and activation spaces, assisting exhibitors, National Agencies, sponsors, and partners with operational needs before and during TIFF: The Market.
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors, venues, contractors, and service providers, assisting with scheduling, deliveries, installations, and onsite requests.
  • Support communications with exhibitors, National Agencies, and internal stakeholders to ensure booth requirements, layouts, and operational needs are met.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate production documentation, floor plans, contact lists, schedules, and exhibitor information.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, including IT, Sales, Programing, Creative, Facilities, Event Production, Festival Services, and Volunteer teams, to support venue readiness and day-to-day Market operations.
  • Assist with procurement, deliveries, equipment tracking, and production logistics to support all Market venues and activation spaces.
  • Monitor onsite operations and respond to production and logistical requests, escalating issues to the Production Manager when appropriate.
  • Support site safety, security, accessibility, and operational compliance by following established procedures and reporting potential issues.
  • Contribute to post-event wrap-up activities, including inventory, documentation, reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve future Market operations.
