About The Position

The Production Assistant I will learn all aspects of production for Mission Produce, working side-by-side with the Production Supervisor and Production Coordinators to help ensure production requirements are met and Mission’s goals are achieved. The role supports inspection, product handling, shipping and receiving, inventory procedures, reporting, and workstation upkeep.

Requirements

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the team and other departments.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to follow standard operating procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Flexibility to work holidays and weekends.
Positive attitude toward tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist with stacking and quality inspections.
Assist shipping and receiving with order breakdowns and order preparation.
Understand and adhere to Mission’s ripening cycle.
Understand inventory levels and FIFO procedures.
Conduct routine and visual inspections of avocados and mangos.
Sample and inspect raw and finished products to ensure conformance to standards.
Initiate and complete aging, shipping, receiving, and grading reports.
Set up stations and equipment to measure quality specifications.
Maintain a clean and orderly workstation.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
