About The Position

The Production Assembler is responsible for producing components by assembling parts and subassemblies, following schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions. This role involves positioning and aligning components manually or with equipment, using hand tools, and conducting quality control checks. Key duties include maintaining a clean work area, preparing materials, verifying specifications, resolving assembly issues, managing inventory, and documenting production and quality forms. The position requires physical activity, attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically active work, including standing and moving for extended periods (up to 10-hour shifts)
  • Capability to lift, carry, and handle materials as required in a production environment
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and consistently following safety policies and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and meeting production standards
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to accurately assemble and handle small parts and components
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions in English and communicate as needed for the role
  • Demonstrated ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide
  • Ability to perform these operations using US dollar and weight measurements, volume and distance.

Responsibilities

  • Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.
  • Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with specific equipment.
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble parts.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
