About The Position

Methods Machine Tools was established in 1958 with three employees and a handful of refurbished machines. Since then, the company has become one of the largest privately owned machine tool importers in North America. Methods designs and implements custom machining setups, including machine tool selection, automation integration, and turnkey automation cells. The corporate campus in Sudbury, Mass., comprises a showroom/technical center, which contains automation, applications, and a full range of cutting-edge machines. Methods has more than 300 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed more than 40,000 machines throughout North America. Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and hardworking Production Assembler to join our team. The Production Assembler will be responsible for assembling components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to established guidelines and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Manual dexterity and proficiency in using hand tools and equipment.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in assembly, manufacturing, or related fields is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual or automated assembly of components and products according to work instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment to assemble parts and products.
  • Inspect components and assemblies for quality and accuracy.
  • Build components from raw materials following blueprints and specifications.
  • Assemble subassemblies from multiple components using blueprints and bills of material.
  • Install assemblies on CNC machine tools as part of the final production process.
  • Follow detailed assembly procedures, safety protocols, and production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and quality control measures.
  • Report any issues, defects, or irregularities in the production process.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
  • Communicate effectively about progress, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in training new team members when needed.
  • Track and maintain inventory of parts and components used in assembly.
  • Record assembly data and complete required production documentation.
  • Identify and report shortages or damaged materials.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the work area to support efficiency and safety.
