About The Position
As a Production Assembler with John Deere in Thibodaux, Louisiana, you will perform assembly-related operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Specific duties depend on assignment and include assembling parts or components to specification; reading work instructions and following established procedures; recording data and maintaining quality and maintenance records; checking work for conformance and making corrections; operating power-driven equipment to move materials, parts, and equipment; using tools and equipment to perform work; maintaining work equipment and tooling; supporting team members; and keeping the work area clean.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least one of the following: a high school diploma or G.E.D., a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to the job duties for the duration of the work shift, with or without reasonable accommodation, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive actions.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime, including weekends.
Nice To Haves
- At least 3 months of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts or components to specification.
- Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
- Use manufacturing tools to record data and maintain quality and maintenance records.
- Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
- Operate power-driven equipment, such as forklifts and industrial trucks, to move material, parts, and equipment.
- Use tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, testing and runoff equipment, ladders, hoists, fixtures, jigs, and gages.
- Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
- Assist and support other team members.
- Clean the work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
