About The Position

The Production Assembler position will receive training in both mechanical and electrical assembly processes. Working as part of a manufacturing team, the Production Assembler learns to assemble mechanical frames, electrical distribution equipment, and related components while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This role follows established work instructions, supports daily production schedules, maintains an organized work area, and contributes to a safe, collaborative, and continuous learning work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience using basic hand and power tools preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and manufacturing documentation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
  • Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. (95%)
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
  • Manual dexterity to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Vision: Long periods of close work on small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items
  • Ability to climb ladders as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical frames, components, and electrical equipment according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, impact drivers, drills, tape measures, machinist squares, T-squares, and other assembly equipment.
  • Meet daily production schedules and productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Inspect completed work throughout the assembly process to ensure products are free from defects.
  • Perform metal corrections and touch-up painting as directed.
  • Follow standard work procedures and manufacturing guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by following 5S principles and housekeeping standards.
  • Monitor and track performance against key metrics (output, defects, rework, attendance, downtime) and lead Tier 2 daily management meetings.
  • Coordinate with Planning, Materials, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure work center readiness (materials, tools, documents, etc.).
  • Comply with all company safety policies, quality standards, work rules, and operating procedures.
  • Communicate production progress, concerns, and improvement opportunities to the supervisor.
  • Assist with inventory organization, material handling, and workstation preparation as needed.
  • Support cross-training and learn additional assembly processes to increase production flexibility.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
