About The Position

This Production Assembler position at Mathews Associates Inc. in Sanford, FL, involves active participation in continuous quality improvement activities, including attending team meetings and ensuring compliance with safety and quality policies. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment and strict adherence to written and verbal work instructions in English. Key tasks include placing and fastening parts using various methods such as bolting, clipping, screwing, cementing, gluing, welding, and soldering. The assembler will operate machines like resistant welders, ultrasonic welders, wire crimpers, and drill presses, and utilize hand tools such as wire cutters, screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, and glue guns. The position demands working at different workstations as production needs dictate and maintaining an average daily production output compared to coworkers.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read in English a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to ask and answer questions in English.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American dimensions, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly participate in continuous quality improvement activities, including, but not limited to attending team meetings, keeping management apprised of any safety or product quality concerns, and staying compliant with policies and procedures in accordance with the Quality Manual.
  • Use personal protective equipment, including but not limited to masks, gloves, and ear plugs when indicated.
  • Follows written and verbal work instructions in English.
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other.
  • Bolts, clips, screws, cements, glues, welds, solders, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Operates machines to perform operations on assembly line, including but not limited to the resistant welder, ultrasonic welder, wire crimper, and drill press.
  • Uses wire cutters screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, glue guns, and other hand held tools as part of assembly process.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Has responsibility to produce at least an average amount of production, in comparison to coworkers on a daily basis for the specific job assigned.
  • Works on line where tasks may vary as different stages of same article move along assembly line.
