About The Position

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) has immediate openings for Production Assembler II to join our Moses Lake, WA team. The Production Assembler II role assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment. Ability to obtain forklift operator certification. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing experience or exposure to a production environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
May be requested to work a different shift.

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and follows established manufacturing procedures.
Uses hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards.
May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
Keeps daily assembly production records.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Understands hazardous characteristics & compatibility of propellants; handling pyrotechnic/chemical materials with required safety requirements; wears and takes care of all personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including Respirator, Eye Protection, Safety Shoes.
Performs propellant and assembly operations in accordance with written instructions.
