About The Position

The Product Test Engineer is responsible for the execution of the testing and calibration requirements for the R&D testing and calibration laboratory. This role provides technical assistance to ensure the accuracy of testing, analysis, calibration, and reporting to the customer. The engineer will validate engineering by identifying and testing to appropriate Kimball and external standards and conduct testing and calibration in accordance with the quality system. This position supports product line management, engineering, and design in new product development, engineering changes, and process improvements, as well as supporting PDP and NPI processes. The engineer will work with PLM, Engineering, and Quality to resolve product field performance issues and develop new internal product performance standards and test methods to meet changing product use conditions and new product markets. They will also develop new material performance test standards and test methods, support PLM, field sales, and customer service with product performance technical inquiries, and work with engineering and corporate risk on field liability risk issues. The role is responsible for facilitating testing with outside labs, conducting facility tours of the testing lab, completing projects in a timely manner, and participating in BIFMA Committee work.

  • Associates (2-year) or Bachelors (4-year) Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related science.
  • 2+ years in product testing, preferred.
