About The Position

Big Country Equipment is a leading heavy equipment service and repair company that works with resource-based customers in the mining, construction, forestry, and oil and gas sectors across Canada. Big Country was formed in 2017. We have grown rapidly from a one-truck operation to over 140 employees and a fleet of over 40 fully equipped service trucks, taking care of customers throughout Canada 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are currently seeking an energetic and flexible Product Support Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. You must be local to Kamloops, B.C., and/or be willing to relocate to Kamloops for this role. This role is perfect for someone passionate about customer service and skilled in sales, particularly in oils, lubricants, tools, and heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate should be adept at multitasking, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable with both computer systems and direct customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, preferably with equipment, lubricants, and safety products.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy equipment used in construction, forestry, mining, and oil & gas industries.
  • Proficient in computer skills with the ability to navigate business systems and software efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer and internal relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Experience using CRM software to manage customer relationships and sales activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in marketing, promotions, or trade show participation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Actively sell and promote the Big Country suite of products while supporting post-sale activities to ensure long-term customer success.
  • Prepare quotes and develop presentations in support of customer bids and proposals.
  • Manage customer communications, including phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings.
  • Support the technical requirements of Big Country products, including product training and demonstrations.
  • Assist with the delivery of products and services at customer sites as required.
  • Handle receiving, unloading, staging, and re-shipping of inventory.
  • Provide operational support and assist with marketing initiatives, including online promotions and trade show participation.
  • Travel as required for customer engagement, product training, and sales activities (estimated 50% travel / 50% local).
  • Perform additional duties as required to support overall business needs.
