About The Position

The Product Support Engineer is an individual contributor on Anduril’s Deployment Engineering team, supporting the operational success, readiness, and lifecycle longevity of advanced defense products. The role develops and implements sustainment strategies and translates engineering innovation into reliable, supportable systems for customers and warfighters. The engineer owns maintenance planning, technical data packages, sparing optimization, and lifecycle management for assigned products. Working with customers and cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, operations, and reliability teams, the role establishes and improves maintenance and repair strategies, provides sustainment information and tools for field operations, and integrates supportability practices into new product development. The position also maintains the Service Bill of Materials and other sustainment artifacts in a current, centralized repository.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in product support, sustainment engineering, or systems engineering in a high-rigor environment such as defense, aerospace, advanced robotics, or complex industrial systems.
  • Detailed and extensive technical expertise applying mechanical or systems engineering principles to complex hardware systems.
  • Hands-on proficiency with professional CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools for managing engineering data, changes, and configurations.
  • Foundational understanding and practical application of Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements, principles, and concepts, such as maintenance planning, supply support, technical data management, support equipment, training, and facilities.
  • Familiarity with military standards, specifications, and regulatory compliance relevant to product support and sustainment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to travel for on-site support, field deployments, and direct customer engagements as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with sustainment methodologies such as Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), or developing Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) plans.
  • Track record of developing and delivering customer-facing sustainment artifacts and contractual deliverables.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise tools such as Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), JIRA, or Oracle (ERP), or equivalent systems.
  • Direct experience with complex military systems, robotics, unmanned systems, or advanced defense technology products.
  • Understanding of Technical Data Packages, including drawings, parts lists, interface control documents, and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic, unstructured environments, adapt to changing priorities, and quickly learn new technologies and complex systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex technical and quantitative data into clear decision statements and actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive, ground-up sustainment plans for assigned products.
  • Partner with customers, operations teams, and cross-functional engineering teams to define, implement, and continuously improve maintenance and repair strategies.
  • Ensure that current maintenance procedures, specialized tools, and accurate technical manuals are available for field sustainment operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sustainment matters within the assigned product team, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams during new product development to integrate sustainment practices and design-for-supportability concepts early.
  • Create and maintain a Service Bill of Materials (SBOM) and other sustainment artifacts, including provisioning lists and support equipment lists, in a central, up-to-date repository.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as comprehensive and competitive and available at little to no cost to employees.
