About The Position

Product Support Engineering maximizes the operational availability of Anduril's Dive-XL fleet. The team connects field operators and maintainers with the engineers who design the system, responding to unexpected issues, investigating what happened, deciding how to proceed, and driving improvements to prevent recurrence. The team spans software, electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering disciplines. Product Support Engineers support teams operating and maintaining Anduril's Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicles. They provide operational fleet support on a rotating roster that extends outside business hours, from immediate technical guidance to formal root cause analysis. For each request, they assess severity, scope the work, investigate the issue, direct the necessary engineering change, maintenance activity, workaround, or documentation fix, and own rollout across affected vehicles. They also reduce support demand through sparing strategy, reliability and supportability improvements, better diagnostics and tooling, and supportability requirements for new variants.

Requirements

  • Genuine interest and at least 5 years of professional experience in software, electrical, mechanical, mechatronic, or systems engineering on complex systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently root cause difficult, ambiguous faults from limited or conflicting data.
  • Hands-on experience with real hardware in an operational, field, integration and test, production, or maintenance environment.
  • Sound engineering judgment under time pressure, including assessing whether degraded operation is acceptable.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills; ability to own issues, manage stakeholders, drive resolution or clean handover, and explain technical findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with configuration management, engineering change processes, and fleet-wide change incorporation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic and/or autonomous systems within the maritime environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-call engineering support to teams operating and maintaining fielded AUVs, including outside business hours on a rotating roster.
  • Investigate logs, telemetry, configuration, and maintenance history to identify what happened, isolate the subsystem and failure mode, and define workarounds that restore capability.
  • Plan and lead root cause investigations to a defensible conclusion, determining whether faults are systemic or isolated and whether they were induced by design, production, maintenance, or operation.
  • Chair Material Review Board dispositions and manage fleet-wide system limitations, including decisions about operating in a degraded state.
  • Turn fleet data into engineering recommendations and requirements, and drive changes through design teams.
  • Build monitoring, alerting, diagnostic tooling, runbooks, and knowledge-base resources to identify issues earlier and improve response times.
  • Author and distribute service bulletins and track their incorporation across the fleet to completion.
  • Create or approve operations, troubleshooting, incident response, and maintenance publications.
  • Govern the as-maintained configuration and SBOM.
  • Reduce support demand through sparing strategy, reliability and supportability improvements, better diagnostics and tooling, and supportability requirements for new variants.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers and are considered part of total compensation.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, described as a comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
