About The Position

The Product Strategy, Principal is an individual contributor role within Dayforce’s Strategy function and part of a small, high-performing team within the broader Strategy, Product, and Technology organization. Reporting to the VP, Strategy and Operations, this role leads the product strategy layer of the function, including product portfolio management and investment prioritization, product P&L and performance management, roadmap governance, and build-buy-partner strategy. This role serves as a key connector between strategic intent, product investment decisions, roadmap development, and growth opportunities. The ideal candidate combines deep product fluency, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across competing priorities.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in product strategy, product management, or corporate strategy within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Deep product fluency with direct experience in product roadmaps, portfolio management, and product planning processes.
  • Strong analytical capabilities including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment case development.
  • Experience synthesizing customer, market, and competitive insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve research, analysis, and strategic workflows.
  • Ability to connect market opportunities, product capabilities, and investment priorities into a cohesive strategic perspective.
  • Proven success driving cross-functional alignment without direct authority.
  • Experience defining OKRs, success metrics, or strategic performance frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive-level presentation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HR technology, HCM, payroll, workforce management, or enterprise SaaS markets.
  • Exposure to M&A strategy, target evaluation, or build-buy-partner decision frameworks.
  • Experience developing or operating product P&L frameworks and investment return models.
  • Familiarity with private equity-backed company environments and strategic planning expectations.
  • Track record influencing product investment decisions and building trusted partnerships with senior Product and Technology leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the 3-year product plan, integrating cross-functional inputs and aligning strategic priorities, product roadmaps, and go-to-market planning.
  • Align strategy, product roadmaps, and investment priorities, including development of business cases and support for capital allocation decisions.
  • Synthesize market, customer, and competitive insights to shape product strategy and identify growth opportunities across the portfolio.
  • Establish product OKRs and P&L frameworks to measure product performance and strategic outcomes.
  • Lead product-specific business case development by framing strategic questions, defining success criteria, and delivering data-driven recommendations.
  • Define and manage the build-buy-partner framework used to evaluate how Dayforce develops or acquires new capabilities.
  • Develop executive- and board-level presentations that clearly communicate product investment strategies and portfolio priorities.
  • Drive alignment across Product, Technology, and Go-to-Market teams to support strategic execution.
