The 2027 Summer Internship for Product Strategy Analyst is located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters. This internship offers a strong understanding of the investment management business across market segments. Responsibilities may include market and economic updates, portfolio commentaries, portfolio construction & analysis, competitor intelligence, client presentation materials, risk and performance attribution, and the development of AI tools to enhance workflow productivity. The Product Strategy Group is an entrepreneurial team focused on financial market and investment strategy expertise, strategic business management, new product development, and key messaging for client marketing and servicing across PIMCO's product lines. Interns gain broad exposure to financial markets, product design/development, distribution, portfolio analysis, and client communication.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree – preferably majoring in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or applied science
  • Must be eligible to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
  • A minimum 3.5 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Must be willing to work in Newport Beach, CA
  • An interest in the financial markets, investing, and macroeconomics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An analytical, detail-oriented skill set
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • The ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes
