Product Stacker - 2nd shift - Heavy Lifting
About The Position
Smithfield is seeking a Product Stacker for their 2nd shift operations. This role involves inspecting and stacking product, ensuring the use of good quality pallets, and preparing them for transport. The position requires adherence to safe lifting techniques, proper job rotation, and maintaining area housekeeping. Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Requires good mathematical and computer skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently.
- Must be able to use pallet jack to move things.
- Vision requirement should be at least 20/40 for near and far vision.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and stack product according to product code or load number.
- Virtually inspect pallets; using only those in good condition and stacking unusable ones off the side.
- Use cardboard sheets to cover each pallet; palletize according to product specification.
- Wrap, using cardboard corners on necessary loads and transport each stock pallet load to appropriate areas.
- Area housekeeping.
- Follow safe lifting/bending techniques.
- Follow proper job rotation as assigned by Crew Leader and/or Supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
