About The Position

Smithfield Foods is seeking motivated individuals to join their team and build lasting careers. This role involves inspecting and stacking products, managing pallets, and ensuring proper product placement and transport. The position is on the 2nd shift and requires heavy lifting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
• Requires good mathematical and computer skills.
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently.
• Must be able to use pallet jack to move things.
• Vision requirement should be at least 20/40 for near and far vision.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and stack product according to product code or load number.
• Virtually inspect pallets; using only those in good condition and stacking unusable ones off the side.
• Palletize according to product specification.
• Wrap loads, using cardboard corners on necessary loads and transport each stock pallet load to appropriate areas.
• Perform area housekeeping.
• Follow safe lifting/bending techniques.
• Follow proper job rotation as assigned by Crew Leader and/or Supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Crew Leader and Supervisor.
