About The Position

Sentry is seeking a motivated Product Specialist to help power data driven decision making across the Small Commercial business unit. The focus is on Direct Sales Channel and Customer Acquisition support. This includes evaluation of marketing, competitor research, customer satisfaction and customer acquisition initiatives. This role is designed for individuals who are eager to learn, curious about data, and excited to apply foundational analytical skills in a real‑world insurance environment. You will work closely with experienced analysts, business partners, and technology teams to support reporting, analysis, and insight generation for our growing Small Commercial portfolio. For this position, Sentry does not offer employment to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of related work experience.
  • Familiarity with data systems, databases, or reporting tools.
  • Ability to work with guidance to analyze data, draw conclusions, and support recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate and manage data from multiple sources.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn new tools, technologies, and insurance concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, evolving environment.

  • Exposure to or interest in data analytics, AI‑enabled tools, automation, or analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct statistical analyses and research that leads to influencing business decisions as it relates to our direct-to-consumer business. This may include such areas as financial performance, advertising effectiveness, rate of return, market penetration, retention, closing ratios, claim trends, state profitability, competitor monitoring, and sales.
  • Create and modify, as needed, standard reports as well as customized analysis in support of meeting business unit targets.
  • Collaborate closely with in house sales center to develop and produce reports to maximize call center efficiency.
  • Evaluate the impact of program and process changes in key metrics such as expense management, profit, production, retention and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop tools and methods to monitor and evaluate financial impacts of acquisition activity.
  • Prepare, forecast, and analyze trends in such areas as new business production, retention, loss ratios, general business conditions, and other related areas.
  • Collect, create and disseminate data, perform analyses and prepare recommendations related to the external insurance operations environment, marketing trends, including industry developments, trends and emerging markets.
  • Work with external lead vendors to maximize digital marketing efforts to ensure we are meeting our allowable cost per acquisition by product and brand.
  • Create clear, accurate reports and visualizations to communicate insights to internal stakeholders.
