About The Position

The Small Commercial Portfolio Manager position is responsible for prudent underwriting and effective credit and risk administration for credit relationship between $1.5MM and $2.0MM in exposure with particular emphasis on adherence to credit policy and requirements, financial analysis/modeling, risk evaluation, on‑going portfolio maintenance activities, and client support for an assigned portfolio of existing credits and prospects primarily of moderate to medium complexity, with some having higher complexity.

Requirements

  • 4 Year College degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting or equivalent education and experience
  • 3+ years lending experience
  • Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, credit and underwriting skills.
  • Sound leadership, organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Complete knowledge of commercial loan policy and appropriate federal and state regulations pertinent to commercial real estate lending.
  • Sound understanding of economics, commercial finance and accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively maintains and services the Credit and Risk administration of assigned portfolio accounts in the assigned Small Business Commercial Banking Portfolio to ensure overall commercial banking portfolio performance and asset quality remains strong and within risk tolerances.
  • Responsible for the structuring, underwriting, and documenting of matured loans as well as annual reviews of loans with existing customers, including management of complex credits. Assess the credit risk of assigned credit relationships and when necessary, regrade and/or restructure loans based on the current circumstances while minimizing loss potential to the Bank. Takes the lead on the internal credit process for obtaining approvals of credit.
  • Train less experienced department members on cash flow, collateral, loan structuring and lead customer interaction.
  • Manage the annual review and renewal schedule required by Bank Policy as well as day-to-day workflow requirements of the department.
  • Assist in the monthly portfolio reporting of KRIs.
  • Other duties assigned.
