The Launched Effects team specifically focuses on scaling the manufacturing and delivery of the Altius family of systems (Altius-600 and Altius-700), which are redefining modern warfare. This team comprises manufacturing engineers, quality specialists, and production operations experts committed to accelerating defense manufacturing timelines through optimized assembly lines, automated testing, DFM, and resilient supply chains. The Product Sourcing Engineer will drive strategic supply network development and cost management for Anduril's product hardware throughout its lifecycle, working closely with suppliers and internal teams in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience, ideally with a background in design & development of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
  • Experience in advanced sourcing activities, including roles as commodity/sourcing managers.
  • Experience in supplier development (technology, process, supply chain, etc.).
  • Experience with early supplier engagement before product/engineering requirement realization.
  • Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at the component & product level.
  • Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BSME, BSEE) or other related technical degree preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship is required pursuant to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct supplier selection for a specific product, leveraging the approved supplier list.
  • Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should cost/clean sheet models, and joint design development.
  • Drive the development and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM in collaboration with Quality & Manufacturing to scale internal and supplier production.
  • Manage all NPI component procurement to ensure on-time delivery and correct specifications for scaling production.
  • Manage CAPEX throughout NPI.
  • Complete value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
  • Complete BOM risk assessment, including alternate component sourcing.
  • Ensure completion of all vendor component qualifications before production.
  • Optimize commonality and rationalize components/suppliers to reduce complexity.
  • Lead all cost engineering activities to align the bottom-up cost curve with product cost, maximizing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the product lifecycle.
  • Manage ad-hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and cost inflation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regular interaction with production and manufacturing stakeholders, and working directly on the production floor.
