About The Position

“Launch” is a new pathway for graduates stepping directly into permanent roles at Rolls-Royce. The program is designed for ambitious graduates (Bachelors, Masters or PhD level) who are ready to make an impact from day one, supported with on the job learning and career progression opportunities. You’ll join an engaged, multi-disciplinary team of engineers who will help you understand the system security landscape and gain exposure to its many dimensions. In this role, you’ll be based in the Electrical, Electronics, Software, Control System Design, and System Security (E24S) capability group. This group sits within Rolls-Royce Engineering, Technology and Safety - the central home for engineering expertise across the Rolls-Royce group. The E24S group is made up of a diverse team of engineers specializing in traditional and model-based software, systems, electronics, electrical power and system security. The team works collaboratively across design, integration, testing, in-service support and supply chain management to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve problems using analytical and critical thinking
  • Interest in cyber security and cyber threats, particularly as they relate to cyber-physical systems
  • Knowledgeable about or interested in embedded systems and the technical skills required to develop, implement and secure them
  • Curious about novel and emerging technology solutions and how they might be used to enhance – or degrade – the security of a system
  • Outcome-focused with good problem-solving abilities, including an aptitude for finding practical solutions to complex technical problems
  • Collaborative and curious, with good communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a concise and logical way
  • Educated to degree level in a STEM subject, including: Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering
  • You will receive your degree between December 2025 and August 2026.
  • Ability to work in the U.S. with indefinite work authorization; No sponsorships are available for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Designing secure systems and applications
  • Identifying threats and assessing cyber risks
  • Investigating vulnerabilities and security incidents
  • Developing and implementing security policies, processes, and procedures
  • Conducting various types of security testing to ensure product resilience
