About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing analytical testing services to ensure products are safe, authentic, and accurately labeled. The company is a global leader in food, environment, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic product testing, as well as agroscience Contract Research Organization services. Eurofins has grown significantly and operates a vast network of laboratories worldwide, offering a wide range of analytical methods. This role is for a Product Safety Engineer with working knowledge of IEC 62368-1 & IEC 61010-1 standards, responsible for testing various products against U.S., Canadian, and international product safety standards, writing reports, and communicating with clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-year engineering degree required.
  • Minimum 4 years of product safety experience in Testing, Inspection and Certification /NRTL lab is required.
  • Working knowledge within IEC 62368-1 & IEC 61010-1 and some of its collateral.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge within the standards identified above.
  • Ability to work independently with some guidance as needed on a variety of products to the requirements of U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards.
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate up to 20%.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

  • Prepare Test Plans and execute testing according to IEC 62368-1 and/or IEC 61010-1 standards.
  • Fill in Test Report Forms (TRF) pertaining to the above standards.
  • Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
  • Test products in accordance with standards and requirements, including power input, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, stability, mechanical hazards, flammability, abnormal and single fault, IP testing, and others as applicable.
  • Read and understand schematics and manufacturing instructions.
  • Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing and project execution.
  • Perform preliminary design reviews (PDR) as they grow in their career.
  • Communicate with customers & sales on project status.
  • Travel as business needs dictate up to 20%.
