About The Position

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Product Review Engineer to join our C-17 Flight Test Program team in Edwards AFB, California. BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced level Product Review Engineers. This role provides on-site Field Engineering support to the United States Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base, CA as an integral part of a multi-discipline team in conjunction with the C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP) contract. The engineer will use broad knowledge of Boeing C-17 design and engineering principles to facilitate the assessment and resolution of issues through the product lifecycle. They will apply engineering principles and experience to research technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer and coordinate the development and release of interim and permanent engineering dispositions to ensure aircraft airworthiness and overall operational safety and effectiveness. Innovative approaches and unique applications will be used to solve complex nonconforming conditions. The role involves identifying, documenting, and analyzing reported problems and communicating deviations that could impact design intent and safety. Subject matter expertise will be provided to the design phase by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participating in design reviews. Leadership activities include on-site disabled aircraft repair/recovery teams, safety or accident investigation boards, and aircraft maintenance recovery teams. The engineer will also conduct static strength analysis with the development of repairs, develop customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment, and develop and implement technical training curriculum for internal and external customers. Product/process improvements will be developed and implemented. The ability to work unsupervised for extended periods of time in a wide variety of cultural/economic environments is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience applying engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues

Nice To Haves

  • Level 3: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
  • Previous Material Review Board (MRB), product review, or delegated engineering authority (DEA) on C-17 program
  • Ability to use NX/Unigraphics or CATIA for development of structural repairs
  • Experience & aptitude with aircraft metal and composite structural design, analysis and repair design skills
