Product Research Manager

TRIMEDXIndianapolis, IN
Hybrid

About The Position

The Product Research Manager is a research-led, strategy-first member of the Product Marketing & Innovation team who is embedded across the full product lifecycle, from discovery through sustained adoption. This role designs and executes primary market research, maintains a proactive view of competitive and market intelligence, and translates customer, clinician, operator, and market data into clear product, positioning, and go-to-market implications. The Product Research Manager shapes product roadmap, launch, pilot, and portfolio decisions by applying mixed-method research, behavioral science, design thinking, and disciplined research methodology. This individual builds scalable research frameworks, influences cross-functional partners across the 8-team hub without direct authority, and presents evidence-backed recommendations directly to executive and senior leadership. They are a voice in the room, not a note-taker.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience designing and executing primary research (qualitative or quantitative) is required.
  • Research & Results portfolio is required.
  • Proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior or executive stakeholders.
  • Mixed-method research fluency: qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strategic thinking: ability to synthesize data into a market point of view with implications.
  • Executive communication: clear, confident presenter in high-stakes settings.
  • Familiarity and comfort operating in a matrixed organization with ability to work successfully cross-functionally.
  • Leads without formal authority; builds credibility through expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in strategy, product marketing, or market insights is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in B2B, healthcare, health tech, or complex enterprise environments strongly preferred.
  • Behavioral science or human-centered design exposure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute primary market research studies to support product desirability, feasibility, and viability decisions.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence as a living, proactive function — not an on-demand deliverable.
  • Develop and present strategic market recommendations to executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product and IT teams from discovery through launch to ensure market desirability is validated at every stage.
  • Apply behavioral science and design thinking methodologies to positioning, messaging, and launch strategy.
  • Build reusable, technology-enabled research frameworks and strategic intelligence tools that scale across the PM&IR team.
  • Support pilot ownership — design research into pilot programs and synthesize learnings for fast iteration.
  • Contribute to the team’s 8-team hub integration by serving as the research and strategy authority.
  • Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, ethnography, focus groups, surveys, conjoint analysis, and usage data, selecting the right methodology for the business question.
  • Document research methodology with scientific rigor to ensure research is repeatable, measurable, and defensible.
  • Translate raw customer, clinician, operator, and market data into clear product, positioning, and go-to-market implications with a recommended path forward.
  • Maintain a current, evidence-backed perspective on the competitive landscape, strategic risks, and white space opportunities for the TRIMEDX product portfolio including analysis of AI-driven market shifts, automation trends, and emerging technology disruption impacting the TRIMEDX portfolio.
  • Shape product roadmap and go-to-market decisions by influencing cross-functional partners across the 8-team hub without direct authority.
  • Balance near-term launch priorities with multi-year market positioning and portfolio strategy.
  • Present research findings, market analysis, and strategic recommendations directly to C-suite and senior leadership with clarity, credibility, and confidence.
  • Turn research and data into compelling narratives that define the audience, clarify the purpose, and drive timely, actionable decisions.
  • Lead research-driven evaluation of emerging technologies to inform product strategy and portfolio decisions - keeping it squarely anchored in evidence and long-term differentiation.
  • All other duties as assigned.
