About The Position

Lead product quality engineering team for hyperscale data center infrastructure, focusing on critical cooling systems, power network modules and ASME Section VIII pressure vessels. This role involves driving corrective and preventive actions, performing quality audits, defining qualification strategies, developing inspection and test plans, reviewing non-destructive examination data, tracking quality metrics, partnering with design engineers, coordinating with data center operations, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The manager will also provide technical leadership and training, and carry out management responsibilities including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and budget management to ensure Kelvion’s Standard of Excellence is incorporated into every product.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in core quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Identifying and resolving issues related to product quality, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with electronic assembly manufacturing and high-power safety protocols.
  • Data-driven analytical mind capable of querying manufacturing logs, system telemetry, and failure statistics.
  • Understanding of Microsoft tools such as Excel, Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, Power BI, and dashboard development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering.
  • 8+ years in quality engineering within heavy manufacturing or 5 years in data centers.
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or engineering management role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) utilizing 8D problem-solving methodologies and 5-Why forensics.
  • Performing periodic quality audits to ensure suppliers continue to work in compliance with company and federal standards.
  • Define qualification strategies and test plans to validate power module performance under worst-case thermal and operational stress.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
  • Review non-destructive examination (NDE) data, including radiography, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, and penetrant testing.
  • Track quality metrics including first-pass yield (FPY) and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
  • Partner with design engineers to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Coordinate with data center operations to resolve field quality issues rapidly.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on defect reduction, process capability improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Provide technical leadership and training to Quality Inspectors, Production personnel, and cross-functional teams.
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Managing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.
