About The Position

Steel Tool & Engineering Co. is hiring a full-time Product Quality Engineer in Trenton, MI, to join their team. This role is focused on ensuring product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The engineer will review contracts and production plans, implement quality systems, lead inspections (FAI, Gage R&R), investigate root causes of issues, collaborate with teams, and apply lean and Six Sigma techniques for corrective actions. Additionally, the role involves training inspectors, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement across operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or Associate's degree preferred)
  • Skilled in problem-solving and analysis
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with inspection tools and measurement equipment
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure
  • Ability to pass required vision and inspection standards
  • High attention to detail and quality standards
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to use PPE as required
  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test
