About The Position

The Product Process Technician will be responsible for distributing departmental records and supporting companywide manufacturing processes. This role requires intercompany departmental collaboration related to aluminum aerospace open and closed die forgings. The Product Process Technician will work as part of cross-functional teams to focus on the improvement of safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance with aerospace industry and APP standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Applicant Should comfortably work with standard PC applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook, Internet) as well as using ERP and related computer programs.
  • English (reading, writing, verbal, comprehend).
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
  • Basic add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages.
  • Have a positive and have a professional attitude.
  • Must be willing and able to drive results.
  • Possess critical thinking, problem solving, and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Possess organizational, analytical, writing, and people skills.
  • Ability to travel for business.
  • Basic knowledge of interpreting blueprints, customer specifications, GD&T.
  • Ability to use various measuring equipment required for the job.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
  • Effectively communicate across departments and personnel.
  • This position may require access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

  • Work in coordination with Product Development Engineer and continuous improvement teams to generate data (OTD, costing, efficiency, effectiveness) for improvement projects.
  • Generate forge procedures and work instructions.
  • Standardize the tryout process for all locations, where possible.
  • Embrace and promote the company’s culture beliefs as a means to achieve the Key Results.
  • Support other APP, Inc. facilities.
  • Interact on the shop floor throughout the company to problem solve and optimize current processes and procedures.
  • Provide reports and updates to various levels of the organization to achieve desired results.
  • Perform other duties as required by APP Leadership that are essential with the job duties.
  • Gather and have ability to interpret process cause and effect data.
  • Order tryout stock.
  • Order material (internal).
  • Provide Production support, monitor production runs, generate comparative run data for performance to APP Key Results.
  • Schedule and coordinate developmental runs in coordination with management.
  • Review and analyze forging simulation data to detect forging issues.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  • Report any equipment or facility defect(s) to Supervisor.
  • Ensure any accident or injury is promptly reported.
  • Always comply with proper PPE.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • Comply with APP’s policies and procedures, including our code of conduct, ethics, product safety, employee safety and cultural beliefs.
  • Ensure adherence to all process specifications.
  • Must attend all training required to advance skills related to the job.
