About The Position

ATI is seeking a Summer 2027 Process/Product Engineering Intern for its Washington, Pennsylvania operations in the Pittsburgh region. The internship provides hands-on engineering assignments and projects, professional development, and networking opportunities. The intern will work under the guidance of an established ATI professional and contribute to manufacturing improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial metals environment. The role includes assisting product and process engineers with metals manufacturing, processing, and product performance activities. The intern may gain exposure to operations such as melting, casting, hot and cold rolling, heat treatment, finishing, and materials testing, and will help evaluate material properties and manufacturing performance. Work combines office-based engineering activities with hands-on work in manufacturing areas, where personal protective equipment and compliance with company safety procedures are required. The internship is intended to build practical understanding of metals manufacturing and the links among processes, material microstructure, mechanical properties, and finished-product performance. Interns will work with experienced engineers and metallurgists, contribute to technical projects, and develop communication, data analysis, project management, and collaboration skills. ATI does not provide immigration sponsorship for its positions and provides equal employment opportunities, including reasonable accommodations during the hiring process.
