About The Position

PPG, LLC manufactures, sources and markets a broad line of plumbing repair and remodel products through the retail home improvement and hardware channel (Danco division), as well as a broad line of rough plumbing products sold through the Wholesale and OEM channels (LSP Products division). The Product Manager – Core Categories is a highly visible thought-leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, performance, and evolution of Danco’s most important product categories. These categories represent the foundation of the business, requiring a leader who can balance long-term strategic thinking with decisive day-to-day execution in a dynamic retail and supply chain environment. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management, this role operates at the center of the organization — partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership to drive profitable growth, navigate complexity, and bring innovative solutions to market. This role is ideal for a commercially-minded product leader who thrives in moments of opportunity, adapts quickly to change, and can confidently make decisions when the path forward is not immediately clear.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, category management, portfolio management, or related commercial leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience operating within retail, consumer products, or highly customer-driven environments
  • Proven ability to lead effectively through change, ambiguity, and competing priorities
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including experience managing category performance, margin considerations, forecasting, or P&L ownership
  • Experience working cross-functionally within complex organizations and influencing without direct authority
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with global sourcing and supply chain environments preferred
  • Experience with formal product development or project management processes preferred (stage-gate, Smartsheet, or similar systems)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies that drive sustainable growth, profitability, and market competitiveness across Danco’s core product portfolio
  • Own and manage a multi-year product roadmap, balancing innovation, lifecycle management, customer needs, operational realities, and financial performance
  • Lead new product development initiatives from concept through launch, guiding cross-functional teams through a structured stage-gate process while effectively navigating changing priorities and business conditions
  • Serve as the business leader for assigned categories, owning product performance and partnering cross-functionally to identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions
  • Utilize qualitative insights, market trends, retailer dynamics, consumer behavior, and quantitative analysis to inform strategic decisions and investment priorities
  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to develop customer strategies, support key retail relationships, and execute successful go-to-market plans
  • Collaborate with Operations, Planning, and Sourcing teams to improve forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization, and supply chain responsiveness
  • Champion accountability, critical thinking, and continuous improvement across projects, processes, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Provide category expertise, product knowledge, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders across the organization, including executive leadership
