About The Position

This role serves as a Product Owner, providing support for the current supply and demand planning platform (o9 or Coupa) while the internal team focuses on building out a new product. The Product Owner will act as a trusted partner to the business, maintaining stakeholder confidence and providing strategic Product Management leadership during the implementation and stabilization period of a new platform replacing an existing tool. The portfolio is focused on supply and capacity planning solutions.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Working knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
  • Extensive knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Product Owner support for the current platform (o9 or Coupa).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, development teams, testing teams, etc., to deliver business solutions.
  • Document the business case to justify the requirements of time and resources of a project.
  • Utilize diverse analysis tools and methodologies to group different business activities based on shared characteristics or similarities.
  • Differentiate assumptions, perspectives, and historical frameworks.

  • Assess and validate decision options and points and predict their potential impact.

  • Cite examples of unusual problems; follow proper notifications and escalation procedures.
  • Participate in enhancing the sales process and expanding sales opportunities.
  • Collect, document, and maintain product functional requirements; make recommendations.
  • Support and participate in major installations and customizations.
  • Maintain and disseminate information on customer use and experiences.
  • Have knowledge of all advanced business features and functions of the product.
  • Relate experiences with unusual or non-traditional uses; assess opportunities and challenges.
  • Describe methods for estimating costs for request fulfillment.
  • Define responses for non-standard or unsupported change requests.
  • Contribute to the design and development of request process flow and templates.
  • Clarify description, components affected, need, cost estimate, risk, resources, status.
  • Manage all aspects of the change request process.
  • Research new tools and techniques for monitoring product efficacy.
  • Review others' writing or presentations and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Adapt documents and presentations for the intended audience.
  • Demonstrate both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.
