About The Position

The Product Owner is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role will be responsible for collaborating closely with stakeholders and Technology & Information Services leadership to define the vision and strategy for technology products, while leading the life cycle of cross-departmental products spanning diverse technology teams and departments, and advocating for long-term strategic enhancements aligned with organizational objectives. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Agile software development lifecycle and methodologies
  • Display the ability to understand and articulate the ‘big picture’ business goals and clear vision for the product
  • Possess advanced and effective business analysis skills
  • A high school diploma or an equivalent
  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, Engineering, Management, or a related field, preferably
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a product owner for Agile software development teams or related areas

Nice To Haves

  • Technical certifications in relevant areas, such as Agile Certification, Scrum Master, and SAFe, preferably
  • Experience in the legal industry or a similar regulated environment, preferably

Responsibilities

  • Defining, documenting, and communicating the product vision guiding the development team and stakeholders in alignment with customer feedback, market research, performance metrics, and firm goals; delivering compelling product presentations and reports, securing stakeholder support
  • Coordinating with other Product Owners to ensure alignment and integration of product strategies across the firm
  • Collecting business and stakeholder requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria, and managing a clear and transparent product backlog, creating, prioritizing, and refining user stories
  • Developing roadmaps to demonstrate long-term product vision, making decisions regarding product features, scope, and priorities, and communicating product releases
  • Planning work in collaboration with the scrum master and development team, providing clear direction and leadership, and holding retrospective sessions to review and assess progress
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
