As a Sr Product Owner within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Denver, CO or Phoenix, AZ. The Sr Product Owner will be responsible from day one for understanding the platform vision, enterprise context, and priority use cases, and for translating that into a clear, well structured backlog. They partner closely with Product Managers and Technology to define scope, decompose work, and support PI planning and sprint execution. As the work progresses, they continuously prioritize and refine the backlog, make day to day scope and tradeoff decisions, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and ensure delivery aligns with enterprise standards, reuse, and scalability goals.

Requirements

  • Hands on experience using Jira for backlog management, including EPICs, features, user stories, dependencies, and acceptance criteria
  • Strong experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, SAFe), including PI planning, sprint planning, and backlog refinement
  • Proven ability to translate business and platform needs into clear, actionable requirements in close partnership with engineering and architecture
  • Experience working on enterprise platforms or shared capabilities, with an understanding of integrations, APIs, and cross team dependencies
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with comfort making day to day prioritization and scope decisions
  • Demonstrated experience leading product strategy and vision, thinking holistically across the ecosystem, prioritizing with discipline, clearly articulating business value, and working effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
  • Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Bachelors degree
  • Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a regulated or risk aware environment (financial services preferred)
  • Familiarity with Confluence or similar tools for documentation and product artifacts
  • Exposure to delivery metrics, dashboards, or outcome based prioritization
  • Experience helping establish or mature product practices in a new or growing organization

Responsibilities

  • Owns the vision and definition of the product.
  • Serves as the voice of the Customer.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Scrum Team(s) effort is concentrated on the right priorities based on business value.
  • Defines and conveys the vision to the team(s) in order to address client requirements to ensure a successful product based on business value.
  • Drives the creation of and the integrity of the product backlog.
  • Leads grooming of the product backlog and ensures the backlog is correctly prioritized based on business value.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Scrum Master(s) and development team(s), are focused on the right priorities during the development process.
  • Primary point of contact for questions from the team(s) and is empowered to make decisions.
  • Accepts delivery of working product from the Scrum Team(s).
  • Socializes the delivery of business value and outcomes of the iteration to the stakeholders and clients.
