About The Position

The Product Owner – Digital Foundation is responsible for defining and prioritizing product requirements, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions, and ensuring delivery of high-value products that support AbbVie R&D’s Digital Foundation. Serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and other cross-functional partners to drive product strategy, execution, and continuous improvement. Lead complex initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape outcomes across multiple workstreams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years’ experience; or Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; or PhD with 2 years’ experience
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional workstreams, managing multiple priorities, and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to develop concise presentations, synthesize insights, and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Experience working with software engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data flows, system integrations, or cloud-based products
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with product management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple workstreams within enterprise transformation and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment to business priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to assess business needs, define action plans, and implement solutions that improve organizational performance.
  • Support AI-enabled and technology-driven initiatives by developing adoption strategies to encourage stakeholder engagement with tools and applications.
  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring items are clearly defined, prioritized, and aligned to business objectives.
  • Translate complex business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements for technical teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, QA, and business partners to support successful product development and delivery.
  • Lead or support sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and other agile ceremonies as needed.
  • Monitor product performance, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, priorities, risks, and release plans to stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Drive change management and adoption efforts for new digital foundation products, tools, and processes.
