Product Operations Manager, Tooling & Automation

DoubleVerifyNew York, NY
$94,000 - $160,000

About The Position

DV is a leader in digital performance solutions, helping advertisers and agencies verify campaign quality, optimize performance, and prove business outcomes through unbiased data and analytics. The Product Operations team enables the Product organization to operate efficiently, consistently, and at scale by connecting strategy to execution through planning, process design, and program management. This role specifically focuses on managing the tool ecosystem that supports quarterly planning, OKR tracking, portfolio visibility, and product development workflows. The Product Operations Manager will own the systems and automation infrastructure for the Product organization, building, maintaining, and maturing the tooling foundation. This includes Jira Product Discovery (JPD) automations, n8n integrations, and emerging AI capabilities, requiring engineering rigor for scalability and reliability. The role involves close collaboration with IT, Engineering, and DevOps to bridge Product Operations' needs with the broader technical ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in product operations, technical program management, operations engineering, or a related role with a strong emphasis on tooling and automation.
  • Hands-on proficiency with workflow automation platforms (e.g., Jira Automation, n8n, Zapier, or similar) and experience building production-grade integrations.
  • Working knowledge of API-driven development, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data transformation.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian ecosystem; familiarity with Jira Product Discovery is a strong plus.
  • Comfort working with AI and LLM-based tooling (e.g., prompt engineering, agent orchestration) or a strong and demonstrated willingness to develop this capability quickly.
  • Solid understanding of data quality principles, monitoring patterns, and automated testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently once direction is set.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical systems for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, cross-functional environments with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a technical domain over time — including building institutional knowledge, establishing governance practices, and communicating system context to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Ad Tech, SaaS, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycle (PDLC) frameworks and OKR methodologies.
  • Experience with data pipeline or ETL tools, scripting languages (Python, JavaScript), or low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Experience building or scaling internal tooling for operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve automation workflows across Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, and connected systems, ensuring reliability and consistency at scale.
  • Productionize existing prototype automations and emerging AI agent capabilities into monitored, self-healing systems with proper testing, error handling, and governance.
  • Develop real-time integrations and data pipelines that connect portfolio strategy (OKRs, Programs) to planning (Projects) and execution (Team Deliverables, Jira tickets) for leadership visibility.
  • Implement automated health checks, dependency monitoring, and status rollup systems that reduce manual overhead during quarterly planning cycles.
  • Create reusable automation templates and self-service patterns that enable PMs and cross-functional partners to operate common workflows without relying on Product Ops.
  • Build automated data quality enforcement to prevent incomplete or incorrect data from entering planning systems — missing PRDs, undefined target dates, orphaned deliverables, and similar issues.
  • Develop automated notification and communication systems for quarterly planning milestones, OKR session prep, dependency deadlines, and reporting.
  • Support the development of AI-enabled process enforcement tools, including agents that check project artifacts for completeness and adherence to PDLC standards.
  • Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and DevOps stakeholders to coordinate automation efforts, prevent redundant work, and ensure consistency in how operational tooling is built and maintained.
  • Document automation workflows, system architecture, and operational runbooks to support knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability.
