About The Position

The Product Material Compliance Engineer Intern will be responsible for analyzing Vertiv’s products for compliance with material regulations (including RoHS, REACH, TSCA, PoP’s, PFAS and others) and customer requirements. The Material Compliance Engineer contributes to a range of responsibilities, including evaluating compliance for new products; recertification of existing products; evaluating the impact of regulations and customer requests; analyzing compliance and process related data and making recommendations; and executing projects to develop and improve related processes. This individual will also collaborate with the procurement and engineering teams to improve the data in Vertiv’s systems and the data collected from Vertiv’s suppliers. This role may also support other compliance, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance), sustainability and engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Background in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, environmental engineering, or related discipline required.
  • MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Bill of Material management systems (ex. Oracle PD, Agile, TeamCenter)
  • English, fluent written and spoken
  • Strong analytical skills; should have the ability to evaluate, analyze and present data
  • Empathetic collaborator whose style builds commitment and engagement.
  • Intellectual curiosity about determining root causes to solve complex problems.
  • Self-motivated, driven individual who is comfortable working in a global, matrixed, fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with electronics hardware, components, assemblies is a plus.
  • Experience with product compliance databases. Previous experience with PLM and Assent Manager is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the material compliance processes within Vertiv product development (VPD) to ensure that products are compliant and product introduction schedules are met.
  • Assist in driving improvement in the process of gathering and managing material compliance data between Vertiv’s product development system and its 3rd party compliance outreach provider.
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on material compliance regulations and best practices.
  • Assist in improving the Product Material Compliance Team’s processes and protocols to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Manage data entry into the environmental compliance database on a daily basis.
