About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting the Electrochemical Development Team in investigating and evaluating raw materials for lead-acid battery production. The intern will be involved in building, testing, monitoring, and tearing down experimental 2-volt test cells to trial battery material changes. Key activities include analyzing test data, creating engineering reports, presentations, and data visualizations to communicate findings. The role primarily involves working with lead-acid batteries but offers exposure to other battery technologies such as lithium-ion, sodium-ion, and super capacitors. The intern will also create lab procedures and test documentation, and collaborate cross-functionally with systems engineering, procurement, and supplier quality to launch material changes that meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Electrochemistry.
  • Ability to be in the greater Milwaukee area in the summer.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
