Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, analyst relations, market research or a similar role in business-to-business (B2B) software.
  • Strong research skills. You can dig through product releases, reviews, filings and news, and separate signals from noise.
  • Strategic communicator. Proactively deliver tailored market intelligence, trend updates, and high-impact recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong AI skills. You use AI tools and large language models (LLMs) every day to research, analyze and create. You can turn one-off work into repeatable AI workflows that others use.
  • Live deal enablement. Demonstrated experience supporting active B2B sales cycles through direct competitive deal consulting and live enablement.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the social media management, social listening or media intelligence market.
  • Experience with competitive intelligence tools.
  • Experience working with analyst firms, or supporting evaluations such as a Magic Quadrant or a Wave.
  • Experience creating sales enablement materials such as battle cards.

Responsibilities

  • Track our key competitors. Conduct in-depth, always on analysis of our key competitors, spanning social media management, social listening, media monitoring and influencer marketing. Watch for product launches, pricing moves, marketing campaigns and company news.
  • Be our early warning system. Be the first person at Sprout Social to share updates on emerging platforms and new features from established providers.
  • Publish regular intelligence reports. Write clear, useful reports for stakeholders across research and development (R&D) and Product Marketing. Tell them what changed, why it matters and what we should do about it.
  • Respond fast when competitors move. When a competitor releases a new feature, run a quick analysis. Share the key points with Sales and Customer Success (CS) so they can answer customer questions with confidence.
  • Shape how we win. Go beyond reporting what competitors do. Recommend how we position against each one, where we can differentiate and what it will take to proactively win.
  • Jump into deals. Support Sales in live, competitive deals. Help set the deal strategy and arm reps with the right proof points.
  • Keep our competitive source of truth current. Maintain battlecards, comparison pages and talking points so customer-facing teams always have accurate information.
  • Build a network of sources. Gather intelligence from analyst reports, review sites, win-loss interviews, and conversations with Sales and CS teams.
  • Use AI to scale your work. Use AI tools to build core intelligence once, then systemize it across the company. Partner closely with our GTM Systems and Applied AI team in Revenue Operations to put competitive insight inside the tools Sales and CS use every day.
  • Manage our relationships with industry analysts. Coordinate briefings and inquiry calls with key analyst relations firms. Keep them up to date on Sprout Social's products, including NewsWhip, Listening, and Influencer Marketing.
  • Support major analyst evaluations. Help prepare submissions, demos and references for influential industry reports. Make sure Sprout Social is represented accurately and well.
  • Leadership/Exec support: Work closely with leadership in developing presentations they can deliver to influential analysts.
  • Bring analyst insight back into Sprout Social. Capture what analysts say about our market and our competitors. Share it with Product, Marketing and leadership.
  • Keep the calendar and the record. Track analyst report cycles, deadlines and follow-up actions so nothing slips.
