About The Position

The Product Marketing - Senior Strategist develops strategies to support the marketing of MFS’ investment product range and is responsible for developing and maintaining MFS investment product selling systems, including the development of compelling messaging and collateral to support campaign activities to support the business. These campaigns will build awareness and promote engagement and consideration for the firm’s capabilities in partnership with the Strategy and Insights Group. In addition, the Senior Strategist collaborates closely with the Global Sales Enablement team, Sales Leadership, Marketing peers, and the Global Product specialists to formulate the market positioning, content development, and measurement of impact. In addition. this role oversees the execution of the product content, and coordinates resources from other departments, as well as produce and disseminate sophisticated, intermediary focused content. Furthermore, the Senior Strategist will serve as the subject matter expert for any integrated marketing material that positively position and differentiate MFS in the Intermediary marketplace to increase awareness, consideration, and selection by intermediary investors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience and 8-12+ years of total relevant work experience.
  • Deep investment product marketing experience focused on the Intermediary market.
  • Strong knowledge of investment vehicles such as Mutual Funds and ETFs.
  • Thorough understanding of distribution strategy and financial advisors’ needs, challenges, and business process with proven experience in leveraging this knowledge to develop, launch and manage products and solutions that demonstrate added value for financial professionals and home office gatekeepers.
  • Excellent influencing skills as this position primarily integrating and aligning the priorities, needs and requirements of the broader Enablement & Marketing organization, that optimize client experience; to influence increased adoption of MFS strategies resulting in increased sales, net new flows, client engagements and new producers.
  • Ability to partner with enablement, sales as well as channel marketing leads to ensure financial advisor (client) feedback is continuously provided for the purpose of understanding the evolving needs of our clients across all channels (advisor, platforms etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Product Marketing Strategy for MFS’ Investment Products - accountable for developing the product marketing plan and framing our positioning within the intermediary segment. Additionally, this manager will work with the Sales leaders, enablement teams, client strategists, and the Global Product specialists to prioritize and determine the strategy.
  • Develop and Maintain the Investment Product Selling System for assigned Investment Product – collaborates with internal stakeholders to define and develop investment product content working with Global Enablement.
  • Manage product launches – solicit input from key stakeholders within sales, investments and channel marketing to build the necessary content that will drive development of the marketing collateral, and promotions.
  • Develop content with a commercial orientation providing actionable insight for financial professionals and their clients.
  • Align activity with Strategic Initiatives and GTM plans - develop a plan underpinned by MFS strategic initiatives to support strategic firm goals.
