About The Position

Planet is seeking a strategic Senior Product Marketing Manager to lead the go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for all AI capabilities company-wide. This role acts as a key strategic partner to the Product Management team, serving as the crucial link between edge AI development and market introduction. The position involves close collaboration with Product, Sales, Design, and Marketing stakeholders to craft a unified narrative that distinguishes Planet in the competitive AI landscape. The core responsibility is to translate complex technical features, such as geospatial AI Agents, into tangible buyer value and ensure AI tools achieve product-market fit. Daily tasks include understanding customer needs, establishing feedback loops to influence the product roadmap, devising effective engagement strategies, and equipping sales and marketing teams with essential messaging, content, and competitive intelligence. This role offers the unique opportunity to market innovative data products and AI-driven solutions powered by Planet's distinctive near-daily Earth imaging. With autonomy to prioritize projects and guide marketing initiatives, you will craft compelling stories across various channels in partnership with sales and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to quickly understand technical concepts and develop clear, impactful narratives for diverse audiences. This role requires regular internal and external presentations, including events and webinars, and demands proficiency in public speaking and advocating for Planet's mission and solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree.
  • 6+ years of B2B, product or solutions marketing.
  • An AI-native builder mindset; you actively leverage AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to generate messaging, build solutions, and accelerate execution.
  • Strong technical creative chops with the hands-on ability to independently produce high-quality product videos, visual assets, and interactive prototypes.
  • Track record positioning and marketing B2B/enterprise products, specifically bringing zero-to-one AI or highly technical SaaS products to market.
  • Experience partnering with product, sales, and executive stakeholders and communicating across leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-starter with ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute GTM and pricing strategies to guide AI products from beta to General Availability.
  • Drive positioning and messaging that translates complex AI capabilities (e.g., embeddings, LLMs) into clear, benefit-driven narratives for non-technical buyers.
  • Produce and maintain core sales enablement assets, getting hands-on to independently create pitch decks, battlecards, product videos, and interactive demos.
  • Partner tightly with Product Management to secure product-market fit, utilizing data and research to ensure we solve real customer problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional marketing teams to seamlessly integrate product messaging into broader market-facing campaigns.
