Product Marketing Lead

Gaia HealthSan Francisco, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Gaia is hiring its first Product Marketing Lead to define how the company understands, builds for, and communicates with patients and physicians. You'll shape the voice, personality, and public experience of Gaia from the beginning by owning positioning and messaging, building the research engine through which patient and physician insight informs the business, and ensuring everything Gaia builds and says earns lasting trust. This is a highly hands-on role that spans product, brand, customer research, science communication, and customer experience. You'll originate the strategy and directly own the programs, assets, research, and systems that bring it to life. The right person knows how to make a healthcare company relevant, creative, and culturally resonant while deepening its credibility, and brings a deep respect for the intelligence and agency of patients and the judgment of physicians.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in product marketing, brand, or communications roles with direct, hands-on ownership. You've personally built positioning, insight programs, and content or audience engines, and the systems that sustain them
  • Experience in healthcare or another regulated, trust-sensitive industry. You understand that what a company says and claims deserves real thought before it goes into the world
  • Research fluency: you've designed and conducted qualitative and quantitative customer research yourself, and turned it into decisions
  • Exceptional writing and messaging craft across audiences and formats
  • A record of influencing product and customer-experience decisions with customer insight
  • Low ego, strong listening, self-awareness, and high ownership — rigorous without being bureaucratic, creative without being precious

Nice To Haves

  • Consumer health or patient-facing healthcare experience, including science or clinical communication
  • A track record of audience building with real numbers — social, newsletter, podcast, or community growth you can show
  • Experience earning credibility with physicians or other expert audiences
  • Customer-experience sensibility. You care how companies handle questions, concerns, and problems, and you've built programs that show it
  • AI-forward in your work: hands-on with AI tools for research, content, and operations
  • Early-stage experience as a first or founding marketing hire

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own Gaia's positioning, messaging architecture, and brand voice, adapting the company's story for patients, physicians, partners, and investors, and signing off on external communications
  • Build the voice-of-patient and voice-of-physician research engine: qualitative, quantitative, cultural, and market research, and the operating systems that carry insight into product and business decisions
  • Shape how Gaia presents its science: accurate, accessible, and compelling, and build the claims framework with our regulatory and scientific partners
  • Translate customer insight into what we build and how people experience it: product recommendations, packaging, education, and the collateral that makes patients and physicians feel informed, comfortable, and involved
  • Build and run the content and audience engine: social, newsletter, podcast, with clear goals, cadence, and measurement, growing meaningful public interest in the problem we're solving
  • Develop physician-facing materials and relationships, building the foundation for a scalable clinician program and bringing physician feedback into company decisions
  • Own product marketing operations: sources of truth for messaging, research, claims, and assets, plus the operating plan, budget, and sequencing
  • Partner with the CEO on the company narrative, including the story and materials that carry Gaia into its next stage of growth

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with HSA and FSA options
  • One Medical membership, 24/7 virtual care, and mental health support
  • Unlimited paid time off, company holidays, and sick time
  • $1,000 annual learning and development stipend to invest in your continued growth
  • $300 twice-yearly stipend to take a day for yourself and do something that restores your time, energy, or attention
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits for transit and parking
  • Company-paid life insurance and short- and long-term disability coverage
