About The Position

WorkWhile is seeking a Product Manager to join its rapidly growing team. This is a growth role where the specific area of ownership will depend on roadmap needs, potentially including a new worker pay card, a financial services program for hourly workers, or improving worker onboarding and activation. The role involves working directly with leadership and will evolve into owning a workstream end-to-end. This position is hybrid in San Francisco, requiring 3 days a week in the office for collaboration.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a highly analytical, customer- or data-facing role (consulting, strategy, analytics, engineering, ops, or product) with a clear trajectory toward product ownership.
  • Ability to work from the San Francisco office 3 days a week.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow-through across multiple concurrent threads.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineering, design, legal, and external partners.
  • AI-native approach with experience automating workflows and tasks.
  • Structured thinking to navigate ambiguous problems and create clear plans.
  • Sharp communication skills, including synthesizing complexity for executive action.
  • Execution-focused mindset with a drive to complete tasks.
  • Comfort with data analysis, including reading funnels and framing hypotheses.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges, even without prior fintech or product background.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to define problems as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Draft marketing and in-app collateral for new product experiences, including copy and launch messaging.
  • Translate complex mechanics (compliance, partner requirements, financial product rules) into clear support playbooks and SOPs.
  • Track cross-functional and partner threads to closure, identifying and flagging blockers.
  • Partner with product and data science to diagnose funnel issues in onboarding, W-2 enrollment, and activation, and translate findings into prioritized fixes.
  • Assist in scoping, launching, and tracking A/B tests to improve conversion.
  • Maintain the conversion dashboard and report on key metrics.
  • Lead discovery and scoping conversations with stakeholders.
  • Define and prioritize product features, distinguishing between one-offs and genuine product gaps.
  • Write product specifications, define success metrics, and manage delivery with engineering from kickoff to ship.
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders (GTM, Support, Ops) on product development and rationale.
