About The Position

4AM Media is seeking a Product Manager for its cleaning brand. This role is a hybrid of Product Management and Product Marketing, focusing on owning the entire product lifecycle from customer research and roadmap development to go-to-market strategy, content creation, and community engagement. The company operates multiple DTC brands and has significant investment in supply chain, creative, media buying, and analytics. This position is ideal for an operator who can leverage the company's existing infrastructure to accelerate product development, optimize positioning, and ensure customer satisfaction. The Product Manager will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with a peer group including creative, supply chain, media buying, marketplace, and operations leads.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, brand management, or product marketing for a DTC e-commerce brand, preferably in a physical product category (CPG, beauty, home goods, pet, health).
  • Proven experience shipping physical products from concept to market, including writing PRDs, working with overseas factories, managing samples and revisions, and overseeing launch timelines.
  • Deep understanding of DTC e-commerce, including AOV, LTV, CAC, subscription mechanics, and unit economics.
  • Demonstrated customer-centricity through practical experience running surveys, analyzing customer feedback, and making product decisions based on customer insights.
  • Fluency in go-to-market strategies across paid media, marketplace, and content channels.
  • Strong written communication skills for PRDs, briefs, FAQs, social copy, and partnership outreach.
  • Experience working with creators and partners, with a strong understanding of effective content strategies for platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
  • Strong operational drive and initiative to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Willingness to travel to China occasionally for factory visits and sample work.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to enhance research, regulatory work, content creation, and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct customer research and gather product intelligence through NPS responses, customer service tickets, product reviews, surveys, and 1-on-1 calls.
  • Synthesize customer insights into actionable product recommendations for the company.
  • Develop and own the product strategy and roadmap for the cleaning brand, including tablet formulas, powder formulations, and electronic devices.
  • Build a consistent product pipeline that drives customer acquisition, increases Average Order Value (AOV), and enhances Lifetime Value (LTV).
  • Design products and offers with a subscription path in mind from the initial concept.
  • Create and refine a new product criteria framework for making go/no-go decisions.
  • Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), margin structure, and shipping requirements to ensure product viability.
  • Study existing sales funnels and paid media performance to inform product development decisions.
  • Identify existing products that require improvement and define necessary changes, such as updated formulas, better form factors, or complete replacements.
  • Execute product development by writing Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for the supply chain team and collaborating with the China-based sourcing team during R&D and sample rounds.
  • Make final launch decisions, balancing customer fit, margin, and operational realities.
  • Travel to China approximately once a year for factory visits, sample reviews, and relationship building.
  • Ensure products comply with regulations and fit operational requirements, considering channel realities like marketplace listing requirements, shipping classifications, and ad platform policies.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies, determining the optimal sales channels and launch approach for each product.
  • Collaborate with media buyers and creative strategists to build comprehensive GTM plans.
  • Define product positioning and offer strategy, including pricing, bundles, subscription mechanics, and upsells.
  • Create product briefs detailing customer personas, purchase drivers, key selling points, and recommended angles.
  • Write and edit customer service product training materials.
  • Serve as the primary source of product information for internal teams.
  • Engage and energize the creator community to generate high-converting content for paid media channels.
  • Collect feedback from the creator community to inform the product pipeline.
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate research, regulatory work, content drafting, and analysis.
