About The Position

TypeSafe AI is an AI lab building machine-native intelligence infrastructure for automation, designed to make decisions within software by combining the intelligence of LLMs with the efficiency and reliability of code into a new shape of AI: System One Models. Based in San Francisco, TypeSafe AI recently launched its first public model, Jev. While others chase benchmarks and academic puzzles, we’ve been quietly rethinking the LLM stack from first principles — building a new kind of general frontier model designed for real-world reliability, decision-making, and autonomy in production. We’re a small, fast-moving team from OpenAI, Google Brain, and Meta/FAIR, backed by top-tier investors. Since mid-2024, we’ve been engineering the foundation for what comes after the current “state-of-the-art” — a model that actually gets things done. As a Product Manager at TypeSafe, you'll help shape the product direction and experience of Jev, working closely with our CEO and engineering teams to bring frontier AI capabilities to developers and users. This is a rare opportunity to define an exciting new AI product from the ground up. You'll be responsible for translating rapidly evolving model capabilities into compelling product experiences, identifying what to build next, and driving execution from early ideas through launch and iteration. We're looking for someone with exceptional product taste, strong technical intuition, and the ability to move quickly in a highly ambiguous environment. You'll need to think strategically about where Jev should be headed while being equally comfortable diving into product details, talking to developers, analyzing usage data, and shipping improvements. As an early member of the team, you'll have significant ownership and influence over both our product and how we build.

Requirements

Responsible, ownership-inclined, and a team player.
Experience building and shipping technical products from 0 to 1, ideally for developers.
Strong technical intuition and can go deep with engineers on architecture, tradeoffs, and product decisions.
Exceptional product taste and can turn user feedback into clear priorities and product requirements.
Comfortable moving fast, working hard, and making decisions with incomplete information.

Nice To Haves

Previously built products for developers.
5+ years of product management experience, ideally building highly technical products at a company with a high product and engineering bar.
Taken products from 0 to 1 and scaled them.
Experience building developer-facing products, APIs, or infrastructure tools, and understand what makes for a great developer experience.
