SUMMARY: Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the Product Manager is responsible for determining the business strategy for specific markets within the Industrial Business Unit. Business and marketing strategies will be determined based on customer needs, our right to win, and market potential. Initially, this role will focus heavily on the fast-growing Data Center market to include power generation applications. The Product Manager will work closely with Powerex sales, engineering, and marketing personnel as well as with distribution partners, OEMs, and end users to execute the business and marketing strategies. The Product Manager is responsible for both upstream new product development as well as supporting downstream sales execution. This extends from increasing the profitability and market reach of existing products to developing new products for the company. You will build products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. The product manager must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. It is important for the Product Manager to develop first-hand knowledge of market needs through interaction with original equipment manufacturers, end-users, and channel partners. The product manager communicates and coordinates with all areas of the company. You will work with the engineering team to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the marketing promotion strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. The product manager will be measured on successful market adoption and growth.
