About The Position

Helix is seeking a Product Manager to shape products supporting clinical genomics workflows, including case management, data workflows, clinical review and sign-out, and data delivery. The role translates input from clinical users and business partners into product priorities and an actionable roadmap, enabling lab directors, scientists, and engineering teams to deliver genomic insights efficiently while protecting clinical quality. The Product Manager will use AI to accelerate work from user research and prototyping through specifications, while applying judgment to AI-generated outputs and reserving time for strategic decisions and stakeholder alignment. The role involves simplifying complex clinical needs into scalable requirements, balancing efficiency and scalability with clinical quality, coordinating with lab directors, scientists, and global engineering teams, and overseeing privacy, security, and governance for the product area, including AI-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Biology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Deep experience or knowledge of clinical genomics and variant interpretation.
  • At least 3 years of software product management experience in a biotech laboratory, ideally in a clinical setting.
  • Comfort building AI tools and critically evaluating their outputs and the value of AI-driven automation, while considering product integrity, user needs, business goals, and privacy or regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical and biological nuances into clear, actionable product needs.
  • Highly organized and reliable, able to thrive in changing environments and make high-stakes, risk-based tradeoff decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • CLIA/CAP and/or medical device experience.
  • Some familiarity with SQL and relational databases.
  • Basic programming ability in any language.

Responsibilities

  • Set and own product priorities for case management, data workflows, clinical review and sign-out, and data delivery, translating clinical-user and business-partner input into an executable roadmap.
  • Use AI to accelerate user research, prototyping, and specification work, providing context to minimize rework and applying judgment to the outputs.
  • Translate nuanced clinical needs into clear, scalable product requirements while maintaining focus on priorities.
  • Make high-stakes tradeoffs to improve efficiency and scalability without compromising clinical quality.
  • Coordinate lab directors, scientists, and global engineering teams to support seamless product releases.
  • Oversee product-area health, including data privacy, security, and governance within AI-driven solutions.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health insurance, with eligibility from date of hire and above-average employer-paid premium coverage.
  • 12 weeks of Helix paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) with employer matching of up to 3% and 100% vesting from date of hire.
  • Comprehensive well-being benefits.
